Talking about the issues

The film festival provides a safe space to explore and debate national and international human rights. To assist this, each screening will be followed by a discussion forum examining issues raised by the films. Audience members are encouraged to stay for the discussions and to join in with questions during the discussion.

Various non-governmental organisations work in the area of human rights in New Zealand, most of them members of the Human Rights Network. If you are interested in learning more about some of the issues raised in our films, or in finding out more about the work of these organisations are involved in, information from these organisations is available outside the theatres after each screening.

Visit the Human Rights Network website for more information.
